Ayesha Ahmed

Energy and Environment Co-Chair

Ayesha Ahmad is an Emergency Response Communications Officer with Yukon Emergency Medical Services and a dedicated advocate for equity in policy, environmental sustainability, and healthcare access. Based in the Yukon, Ayesha brings a wealth of experience in emergency response, environmental analysis, and community-led initiatives, all of which shape her approach to global governance and diplomacy.

With a BSc in Northern Environmental and Conservation Sciences, Ayesha has worked extensively in research and policy, contributing to mine remediation projects, environmental data analysis at Environment and Climate Change Canada, and interactive sustainability reporting for national indicators. She has presented research to national stakeholders, community groups, and policymakers, ensuring complex scientific data is accessible and actionable. Beyond research, her leadership in initiatives like the Yukon Period Pantry has demonstrated her commitment to addressing gender equity and healthcare barriers in remote communities.

As Y7 2025 Co-Chair, Ayesha is committed to ensuring youth voices are not only represented but actively shape the policy outcomes of the G7 process. She is particularly focused on energy and environmental policy, sustainable development, and equitable resource allocation, drawing from her lived experience and professional expertise in Northern Canada.

Ayesha’s work in emergency services has taught her the importance of strategic coordination, crisis management, and systems-based problem-solving, skills she brings to the Y7 Summit. She is eager to facilitate meaningful negotiations, amplify diverse perspectives, and ensure that youth priorities translate into tangible policy commitments at the highest levels of decision-making.
